35.
Rounds:

OT Jack Conklin

EDGE Kevin Dodd, DL Austin Johnson, RB Derrick Henry

S Kevin Byard

Traded

WR Tajae Sharpe, CB LeShaun Simms

G Sebastian Tretola

OLB Aaron Wallace, CB Kalan Reed

The Tennesse Titans did a lot of wheeling and dealing before and during the draft. Before the draft, they traded out of the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, where they were supposed to draft Tunsil. Then after trading down to No. 15, they traded back to No. 8, where they still could have taken him but didn’t.

Taylor Lewan was good at left tackle last year so they got road-grader Jack Conklin to play on the right side. He’s also solid in pass protections so quarterback Marcus Mariotta will have book-end tackles. From that move alone, you can see that the Titans are looking to get more physical, running the ball and playing defense.

Then in the second round, they showed what they plan to do even more with the three picks they made. Interior defensive lineman Austin Johnson and edge-rusher Kevin Dodd will join a defense that was ranked No. 12 in the NFL. And 6’3″, 247-pound Derrick Henry, the next Eddie George, will play smash-mouth on offense.

I’m not forgetting about Demarco Murray but Henry is going to be the Titans’ work-horse. The Titans also addressed the back-end of their defense and became a much deeper team with these picks. The future is bright with the draft the Titans just had, especially since it gives them some more high picks next year.

. . . Tennessee Titans. A+. player
