Mario Edwards Jr. is back!
The Oakland Raiders’ 2015 2nd-round pick looked promising until he had scary neck injury in Week 15. But on Friday, the talented defensive lineman was cleared to resume his football career. During his rookie year, Edwards looked a like he was on his way to becoming a star defensive lineman.
Many of you are kicking and screaming since I am comparing him to Hall of Fame defensive lineman Howie Long. But everyone starts somewhere and no one thought highly of Long when he first entered the NFL. This isn’t Hall of Fame prediction for Edwards either but he will impact the Raiders in similar ways.
He’s actually done some of it already while he has some parallels to Long that start when they were drafted.
