Oakland Raiders outside linebacker Khalil Mack loves his defense now!

Being the first building block of it, he can see the big difference between how it was when he was drafted back in 2014 and now. Mack and the Raiders just watched the division-rival Denver Broncos win the Super Bowl on the strength of their historically great defense.

Mack sat down with YAHOO SPORTS Shutdown Corner’s Eric Edholm for and interview. He was asked if his team’s defense can be as good as the 2015 Denver Broncos. And from the sounds of his answer, you can tell he loves his defenses chances in 2016.

He said, “Most definitely. If you look at that Broncos defense, they’re one of the best defenses in NFL history last year. They did a lot to make the quarterback uncomfortable. We can do those types of things and still put our own little twist on it. We can be that good.”

A lot of additions were made to it this offseason and on paper, it looks like they can be as good. They actually look like they’re going to be a little more physical than the Broncos’ historical unit. The defense is stacked on all three levels with playmakers on it.
