Tony Romo

As we all know, the quarterback position is the most important position in all of team sports. And Tony Romo is a great one, throwing for 34,154 yards, 247 TDs and 117 INTs since taking over as the starter in 2006. His career quarterback rating is also shiny at 97.1.

So it’s easy to see his absence was a large portion of why the Cowboys were so bad in 2015. A broken collarbone forced Romo to end up missing a total of 12 games last season. That’s 3/4 of an NFL regular season without the most important man on the team playing.

And everyone the team tried to put out there in Romo’s place would fall flat on their face. There’s no one that can bring a season to ruin for an NFL team like the quarterback can. So when an NFL team has one, or two or three, that falls flat on their face, the team will fall flat on its face.

And that’s exactly what happened to the Cowboys when Romo went down in 2015. Remember, the team was 3-1 with Romo as the starter and fell to 1-9 without him in the lineup. Romo is now back, throwing the ball around and has a plate in his collarbone to prevent another injury.
