As we all know, troubled Cleveland Browns receiver Josh Gordon failed a drug test while trying to get back into the NFL in March after serving a 1-year suspension. And it appears that the NFL wants him back so their giving him another chance to reapply after Aug. 1.

If it all works out and Gordon can pass, he could make it back in time get on the field for Week 1.  Former Browns legendary running back Jim Brown believes the talented receiver is ready to give up his marijuana bong in order to put his football cleats back on.

Brown likes his progress, telling Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer.com, “I’ve talked with Josh twice on the phone, and the last time I talked with him, he sounded very motivated and I think he was in rehab and feeling good about it and discovering some things about himself.

“He really seemed ready to take responsibility for himself. “His way of expressing himself, the responsibility he was taking made me feel really very motivated about his chance of getting back.

Brown also sounded like head coach Hue Jackson and owner Jimmy Haslam would welcome Gordon into the fold, saying, “If he adheres to the demands that the league put on him, and he carries that out. I’m sure they’ll be very happy to have him back.”

Who wouldn’t be happy to have the NFL’s leading receiver (1,646 yards in 2013) in his last full season back?

And the Browns just so happen to have Robert Griffin III, is quarterback in college, on the team. However, the team has made it clear that they aren’t counting on Gordon Afterall, the Browns did select four receivers, including Corey Coleman in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Having Gordon back would change the game for the Browns though!
