Baltimore Ravens running back Trent Richardson hasn’t gone very far carrying the ball in his career. But the man went way too far when asked how he saw his career ending. Yes, to make anything great happen in your life, you have to believe and have confidence first.

But so far in his career, that’s the only part of the game the 2013 No. 3 overall pick has shown he has down. If Richardson had gone half as far with his carries as he did in an interview a few days ago, he would be a bust. For a man that’s had the kind of career he’s had so far, he’s talking big.

He told Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic he saw his career ending with him, “Putting on a yellow jacket. “People wrote him off, he came back and did some amazing things. He always had the pedigree. He just had to get back to the guy that we know.”

Who do we know?

If he’s talking about the way he played at Alabama, that’s on an entirely different level of football. We have yet to see him rush for 1,000 yards or more in a season in the NFL. Last time I heard him talking that big stuff, which was last year with the Oakland Raiders, he didn’t even make the team.

But this time, it’s going to be different because things are different, right?

In a recent interview with Baltimore Ravens.com, Richardson hinted that the people around him are to blame, saying, “I found myself being mad. Mad at everyone. Mad at the world. But people don’t realize I was madder at myself because I let myself get in this situation.

“It was more that I had to dig out of this hole.”

That’s great for his personal life but it’s a little late for the hole in his career. I believe he can turn his career around and become a solid running back but the Hall of Fame is a bit much. Marshawn Lynch may not get in as he fell just short of 10,000 career rushing yards.

He’s got a lot of running, not explaining to do!
