At 6’2″, 212 pounds, and running a 4.24 40 at his Pro Day, WR Breshad Perriman is an athletic freak. That led to him becoming the apple of the Baltimore Ravens’ collective eye in 2015. So the team drafted him in the first round of the 2015 NFL, Draft but he hasn’t caught a break.
Before he could play his first down as a Raven, the speedster went out for the season a partially torn PCL in his right knee. And now, he may miss another season before playing his first down in the NFL. According to an ESPN report, Perriman suffered a partially torn ACL his left knee.
Perriman is now scheduled to visit Dr. James Andrews on Monday to find out if he needs season-ending surgery. If that is the case, there’s nothing to feel but horrible for the kid. For a player taken so high to not play a down until his third year in the NFL puts him in a tough spot.
It also puts the Ravens, who were counting on Perriman to be a big part of their passing game, in a tough spot. And now, they’re wondering if Perriman will ever be able to stay healthy and have to make plans around him. The first plan was from Perriman to be that deep threat for the Ravens.
The Ravens have to have one of those to go with the big arm of quarterback Joe Flacco. But it’s not looking good for Perriman, who’s going through more than problems with his health. His father, Brett Perriman, who also played in the NFL, is battling with high blood pressure.
This kid needs a break!
