In a contract year with the Dallas Cowboys, RB DeMarco Murray had himself a big season in  the 2014. He led NFL in rushing with 1,845 yards and was named the NFL MVP for that year. And for that, he was awarded a nice, fat contract with the Philadelphia Eagles.

But in his only season with the team, Murray laid and egg with only 702 yards on 3.6 yards per carry. That lead to theories of Murray being worn out by his 392 carries and  being an average running back that had the best offensive line in football.

From Murray’s side, he didn’t like the way head coach Chip Kelly and his staff were using him in the Eagles offense. So upon his insistence, Murray was traded to the Tennessee Titans to see if he could get back to his 2014 form. The predictions on how this would work out have been mixed.

But there isn’t a single, solitary doubt among the Titans, especially his running backs coach, Sylvester Croom, that Murray will excel in Tennessee. In an interview with the Titan’s website, Croom complimentary of Murray, saying, “He’s a coach’s dream.”

Murray was looking for a system fit in his trade to the Titans and he seems to have gotten it. He was on The Jim Rome Show a few weeks ago and asked if he believes Mike Mularkey’s offense in Tennessee is a better fit for him and he is excited about playing in it.

He said, “I do. It’s strictly downhill and that’s what I’ve been accustomed to my entire life. Nothing against last year or what happened, it just didn’t work out, but I’m very excited about this upcoming season and looking forward to it.”

So what kind of numbers will Murray put up?

Well, 2015 Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry is there too so we’ll see!
