The Baltimore Ravens had a ton of injuries, leading to a disappointing 2015 campaign. They had 20 players on injured reserve, including eight starters. OLBs Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil, WRs Steve Smith and Breshad Perriman and QB Joe Flacco were among the important ones.

This was supposed to be a new year with hopefully now luck but not for the Ravens so far. The Ravens announced Saturday on Baltimore Ravens.com that they have already placed six players on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

The list includes Suggs, Dumervil, Smith and Perriman, who are still trying to get back from last year’s injuries. Jumal Rolle (CB) will miss the season with a torn Achilles and free agent pickup Trent Richardson (RB) is trying to get in shape after missing the offseason with a hamstring.

The player everyone will be watching come training camp is Perriman, the Ravens‘ first-round draft pick in 2015 who missed his entire rookie season with a right knee injury and proceeded to partially tear his left ACL in offseason workouts.

The team will take no chances on Perriman, the team’s 2015 first-round pick. He already missed his rookie year, only avoiding surgery because of a stem cell injection from known orthopedist James Andrews. According NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, Perriman will be “fine” for the season.

The team expects Suggs, Smith, Dumervil and Perriman to return during training camp, while Richardson’s future is uncertain. The only good news for the Ravens on the injury front is that Flacco  is should be good to go from his torn ACL and MCL when training camp begins.

We’ll see how this goes!
