Time For Jerry Jones to Get Off the Crap Table
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones takes chances!
He took a chance when he bought the a struggling Dallas Cowboys franchise that wasn’t worth much. Now, his Cowboys are “America’s team” again worth more than any other sports franchise. That type of turnaround can give a man an ego the size of Texas and Jones has that.
He believes anything and anyone he touches will turn to gold not matter how damaged it is. So he got into the business of taking in extremely talented players with extremely damaged souls in the hopes of these players reforming and becoming super stars that help him win.
His mentor, Al Davis, did that back in the ’70s and ’80s but this is a different day with different rules and more ways to make sure the rules aren’t being violated. It didn’t work out for Davis at the turn of the century and it hasn’t worked out worked out for Jones either.
He has all the programs and ex-Cowboys to take these players under their wings and still negative. Like rapper Jay-Z said on the song Public Service Announcement, “You can try to change but that’s just the top layer, man you was who you was ‘fore you got hayer! (here)
It’s time for Jones to step away from the crap table because it’s starting to cost him more than ever. On the field, linebacker Rolando McClain and defensive ends DeMarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory are all suspended for violating the NFL’s policy on substance abuse.
This doesn’t just cost Jones in terms of chances to win and getting these players to live up to their contracts. This will cost Jones loot as he now has to pay a fine up to $250,000. The same thing happened to the Seattle Seahawks in 2013, when six of their players were suspended for PED violations over a two-year span.
It’s time for Jones to clean that team up and for character to mean more than talent!
