player. 10.
Jadeveon Clowney went into the draft with more hype than I’ve seen from a draft prospect in a long time. At 6’6″, 266 pounds, and running a 4.53 40, you could understand why. I guess the play that he was unblocked and knocked the opposing running back’s helmet off helped too.

Every time he was talked about during the predraft hype, that was the play that was shown. They said he was the next terror to come into the NFL and even though his game is different, they called him the “next Lawrence Taylor.” But since he’s come into the NFL he hasn’t been that.

As a matter of fact, he’s on bust alert, needing a good year this year in order not to be given the label. Injuries count when it comes to evaluating a player and his progress. And injuries have kept his progression way down has he has missed 15 of a possible 32 games of his career.

Clowney has shown up for work under 50 percent of the time, which will get you to 50 percent of where you should be. He has played the run very well so far but they didn’t draft him for 4.5 sacks in two years. So right now, Clowney is missing the wrong 50 percent of his game.
. OLB. South Carolina.
