Bottom Line

Mack can do it all!

He has the power to buck a man well over 300 pounds to the turf and the speed to get around him, leaving him still in his stance. He also has the agility to successfully complete a spin move for a sack as other pass rush moves. What’s scarey is he’s just starting to know which one to use for each given situation.

He only started scratching the surface with his 15 sacks last year so 20 is a very realistic number barring injury. And to go with coming into his own, he has a lot of factors around him that held him back in his first two years that are now very much in his favor.

He has an interior pass rush with Edwards and 2016 second-round pick Jihad Ward. Irvin leads the pack of edge rushers that can come from the other side as well. The secondary has been built to where it will no longer allow receivers to get open quickly for the quarterback to get rid of the ball.

Then there’s the offense, that’s ready to explode, with Carr, Cooper, Crabtree, and Walford. They will get lead that make opposing teams throw a lot to try to keep up with such an offense. So no one should surprised with a 20-sack season by Mack—if anything, they should expect it!
