Dante Fowler is here!

Jacksonville Jaguars fans are most anxious to see the 2015 first-round pick than anyone. They already know what QB Blake Bortles and WRs Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson can do. And while they’re patient with this year’s rookie class, the fans already know what free agent pick up Malik Jackson can do.

So it’s all about Fowler, who was unable to play at all last year because he tore his ACL 20 minutes into his first minicamp. Jackson won a Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos last year, playing with a young man named Von Miller. And he had some comparisons between Miller and Fowler.

NFL.com quoted him saying, “Dante [Fowler] has a lot of energy. He is a very cerebral player. To me, he is very Von-esque. “I’ve seen some of that in Dante. I think he can definitely be the same player. Just a lot of potential, we’ve just got to go out there and work together to get these sacks.”

That’s pretty high praise from a player that’s in his second year and has yet to play and official down in the NFL due to a torn ACL. But Fowler has lived up to Jackson’s hype in camp so far as Ian Rapoport has tweeted that he’s been embarrassing Jaguars offensive linemen.

But Fowler didn’t scratch on the stat-sheet in his first preseason game against the New York Jets. Not that it makes him a bad player because he isn’t but Von Miller may be going a bit too for on Jackson’s part. Combined with ILB Myles Jack and CB Jalen Ramsey, he will help the defense help the Jaguars win the AFC South!
