Terrelle Pryor looks like he has completed his transition!

He has finally caught on in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns as a receiver. It took him five years from the time he Oakland Raiders drafted him in 2011 as a quarterback. At 6’4″, 225 pounds, running a 4.3 40, Pryor was supposed to be a dangerous dual-threat quarterback.

Unfortunately, his ability to run didn’t make him a true dual-threat quarterback. Running and throwing make you a dual threat quarterback but Pryor could only do the running part. His lack of accuracy caused him not to be able to take care of the throwing.

Pryor’s size, speed, and athleticism made him a good candidate to play receiver but he refused at first. So after quarterback so didn’t work with the Raiders, he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks. Then he was cut by them and later the Kansas City Chiefs and the Bengals.

Pryor was then out of football for a year and opened himself to the idea of playing receiver in 2015. So the Browns signed him and he had his year to transition to the position. The comes the Browns’ first play from scrimmage of the 2016 preseason and Pryor catches a 49-yard bomb from Robert Griffin III.

RGIII said to the Akron Beacon Journal of the catch, “You want to be a big-play offense and T.P.’s done some great things all throughout camp and the spring, and it translated to game day. It was good to see him go make a play on the ball and really show up on game day for us. That was awesome.”

Josh Gordon and 2016 first round pick Corey Coleman didn’t play in the game Friday. So at best, Pryor is the third-best receiver on the team this year. But Pryor can make a few plays for the Browns.
