Can the Chicago Bears bounce back against the New England Patriots?

The Chicago Bears had a terrible opening to the preseason when they lost to the Denver Broncos 22-0. They aren’t worried as much about the score but it’s the way they played the game. Chicago looked unprepared and made several key mistakes.

Offensively, the 1st unit struggled to move the football with the offensive line looking like a major concern. The running game was non-existent and Jay Culter was under constant pressure. These issues carried over to the 2nd and 3rd units.

The Bears take on the New England Patriots this week and are hoping to turn things around. They had two inter-squad practices with the Patriots this week with one day looking much like the game against the Broncos, but the other a major step in the right direction.

Chicago needs to see the 1st-team offense move the football and get a push from the offensive line. It’d be nice to see Kevin White make more than one catch and for longer than 3 yards. Cutler needs to be protected so he could take some shots down the field.

Defensively, the secondary needs to do a much better job than they did last week. Kyle Fuller has been a major disappointment and could potential lose his starting job. Overall, the Bears need to see some positive signs against the Patriots.
