The Dallas Cowboys are set up better than they have been in a long time!

Last year, the team only won one game after quarterback Tony Romo went out for the season. They were 3-1 at the timeĀ and you know what winning one more game in a 16-game season gets you. So of course, the Cowboys wanted to go back to the 2014 formula.

Run the football all day, to protect Romo and aĀ defense that’s betterĀ but not great yet. But Thursday, in the on the third play of the Cowboy’s dress rehearsal, Romo went down with a back injury. It was a minorĀ injury Romo could have played if it were a real game.

So the Cowboys tookĀ a look at what life would look like without Romo in 2016. And fourth-round steal Dak Prescott, who has playedĀ like a franchise quarterback all preseason, took over. He went 17-23 for 116 yards and a touchdown to show it wouldn’t be too bad.

The future without Romo beyond 2016 looks very bright as Prescott continues to look like the guy. Owner Jerry Jones has continuously raved aboutĀ the potential Prescott brings to the Cowboys. TheĀ Ā last time he wasĀ this hyped about a young quarterback, Romo just hit the scene.

Jones told NFL.com, ā€œWe’ve also got the fact that Dak was so outstanding in college. ā€œHe carried his college team to many victories against some strong opponents in the SEC, so all of that gives you — you say I’m not uncomfortable. Comfortable may not be the right word.ā€

From that, you can tell Jones believes in Prescott.
