Arian Foster is ready to roll for the Miami Dolphins.

I actually owe him an apology for saying he was done after tearing his Achilles at 30. I didn’t believe he would recover as quickly and regain the explosion he had throughout his career. And at the same time, I thought Jay Ajayi was ready to break out in 2016.

In the beginning of Foster’s time with the Dolphins, the team started him out slow. He didn’t get his first carry until the second preseason after they limited him in training camp. Meanwhile, Ajayi, had a good camp and stayed No. 1 on the depth chart.

That obviously didn’t do anything to dissuade me from wondering why the Dolphins picked Foster up. But Foster showed that he still has it Thursday night and is exactly what they need. An Achilles injury doesn’t take away vision and patience so we know about that.

But Foster showed he still has the burst to turn the corner and wiggle to make a man miss. He also showed that he’s still just as useful in the passing game as he is the running game. He had a catch the went 16 yards on drive he scored a two-yard touchdown on.

Meanwhile, Ajayi struggled with his vision, missing a couple of holes that could have led to big gains. So while I buy a bottle of barbecue sauce to dip my crow’s-feet in, Foster looks like he’s back. I know have to say that he’s ready to take over the Dolphins’ backfield duties.

The offense looks better with him in there!
