Josh Gordon isn’t going anywhere!

Most of the talk was about Robert Griffin III getting deep balls off to Terrelle Pryor in preseason games. The remainder was about 2016 first-round pick Corey Coleman, who flashed in camp before pulling a hamstring. And that must have put Gordon out of sight and out of mind.

He already missed the 2015 season due to violations of the NFL’s policy on substance abuse. So other teams started poking around, trying to see what it would take to get. While nothing worked out, reports came out that a “second-round pick and then some” was the price for him.

After Friday night’s performance, who ever was in line to acquire Gordon wishes they did. He went off on Tampa Bay’s secondary in the first half Friday night. Gordon caught to RGIII bombs on  in veteran cornerback for 87 yards and one touchdown.

On the first one, a 44-yard gain on Cleveland’s opening drive, he turned Grimes around and pulled away. Then on the second one, he used his 6’3″, 225-pound frame to outmuscle Grimes in the end zone. Those were the only two targets Gordon saw on the night.

He didn’t play in the second half as it was already plain as day to see he is still an elite receiver. At the same size, Gordon showed he still the speed, route-running and ability to go up and get one in traffic. After all that time off, there wasn’t a single sign of rust on Gordon.

If he didn’t show any rust after all this time, he should be just fine after serving his four-game suspension. Add him to Coleman and Pryor and the Browns will have one of the best receiver corps in the NFL. So Gordon goes nowhere after showing the goods Thursday night.
