But they need another defensive tackle to form that wall as fellow defensive tackle Haloti Ngata is aging. The Detroit Lions lost a lot when they lost defensive tackles Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley in the same year. The Lions drafted both of them in the first round in back-to-back years and they became a great combination. The two played together for four years, combined for almost 50 sacks and were strong against the run.
Of course, Suh is the superstar that got most of the sacks while Fairley was the run stuffer of the two. Right now, it looks like the Lions need to do the same thing in order to fully replace Suh and Fairley. The Lions drafted A’Shawn Robinson, from Alabama, in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft and he’s coming along.
