Ohio State. Raekwon McMillan. 18. player. 31. The New York Giants have Eli Manning along with Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz so the offense is explosive. There really isn’t any reason to spend a first-round pick on an offensive player in the 2017 NFL Draft. The defense, while much better than last year, can be even better with the right pick.
And the right pick for the Giants here in the situaion is ILB Raekwon McMillian from Ohio State. McMillan at 6’2″, 240 pounds, he is a physical regulator an NFL team needs in the middle of their defense. He takes on guards, fullbacks, whoever wants to get it in with him and will punish the ball carrier.

He’s also a film junkie that studies his fair share of tape, allowing him to quicly diagnose plays. However, McMillan isn’t one-dimentional, he can more than handle his business with tight ends in man coverage. He’s also comfortable in zone and he uses his awareness to clog throwing lanes.

From Sam Huff to Harry Carson to Antonio Peirce, the Giants have won Super Bowls with great ILBs. Picking McMillian would continue the Giants’ tradition of having players like that on the team. And with the rest of the team they have, it might bring back another Super Bowl title.
. ILB
