The San Francisco 49ers appear to be a team with out a plan and it’s time for them to do some house cleaning.

The San Francisco 49ers should start with parting ways with general manager Trent Baalke and then moving on to coach Chip Kelly. These two seemed like a odd couple from the start and will only set the organization back further if they remain in place.

Kelly needs to head back to college football where he can run his own program. He has the personality that fits the college game. It also helps that he has a proven track record. Look for several high-profile colleges to be knocking down his door this offseason.

Baalke sealed his fate when he couldn’t put his ego aside and work with Jim Harbaugh. It also doesn’t help that the coaching hires after Harbaugh have been uninspired. The fact is Baalke took a team on the cusp of a Super Bowl title and turned them into a complete rebuild.

Putting aside how he bungled the coaching situation, Baalke has also had his share of mistakes when it comes to drafting talent.

Lets start with recent failures such as Marcus Martin and Brandon Thomas. Both this picks were seen as a risk at the time and have not panned out.

The 2012 draft was a complete mess with the first two picks AJ Jenkins and LaMichael James already out of the league.

Maybe the biggest issue though has been the lack of player development. This could be directly tied to the poor head coaching choice over the past few years. Promising players like Tank Carradine, Corey Lemonier, Jimmie Ward and Carlos Hyde have not been able to reach their full potential.

This is the perfect time for ownership to clear out the management and coaching staffs. They need to bring in a new general manager who can hire his own coach and use what will be a top-5 pick in the 2017 Draft to address the quarterback problem.
