player. 15. The New Orleans Saints have that explosive offense with quarterback Drew Brees and his receivers. But for a few years now, the Saints defense hasn’t been very good and that’s a big problem. Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan was fired last offseason and the defense is no better. <p>They were ranked No. 31 last at the end of last year in overall defense and No. 31 in the same category now. And if you ask what the Saints really need on that defense, my answer to you is everything. Well, maybe not defensive tackle since they just drafted Sheldon Rankins in the first round.</p> <p>The best defensive player on the board at this point for the Saints is CB Marlon Humphrey. As a redshirt freshman last year, allowing catches on just 31 of 62 passes for 539 yards and two TDs, He broke up seven of those passes and picked off three more in the process. .</p> <p>Humphrey is a fantastic athlete with a track background with the smarts to start early in a pro style defense. So he will come in ready to play right away and have a big immediate impact. With one block set up, the Saints can roll with a pass-rusher to continue building the defense.</p>. CB. Alabama.
