The Miami Dolphins are currently on their bye week before heading to New York to play the Jets on November 6th.

However, there are several interesting Miami Dolphins updates:

Arian Foster Retirement

Surprisingly, Dolphins running back Arian Foster announced his retirement today through the Uninterrupted media platform. Foster’s statement appeared as follows on Twitter:

"“There comes a time in every athlete’s career when their ambition and their body are no longer on the same page. I’ve reached that point … Faceless gladiators have been shuffled in and out of this arena for decades and I’m proud to have taken part in that legacy … I want to thank the Miami Dolphins, with everything in me, for allowing me to bow out with grace and making this process as easy as possible”"

Foster concludes,

"“This is a beautifully violent game and the same reason I loved it is why I have to walk away … on my next journey, I get to carry those memories with me. Hopefully…”"

Foster was currently in his eighth season as a professional football player. Un-drafted out of the University of Tennessee, Foster finished his career with over 6,500 rushing yards and 69 total touchdowns. Arian Foster was selected to four Pro Bowls and played for only two teams, Miami and Houston.

Foster’s retirement is effective immediately. As such, the Miami Dolphins will have an open space on the roster. I would anticipate that the Dolphins try out players in the next day or so to fill that space, or sign someone off of the team’s practice squad.

Dolphins Jersey Petition

Miami Dolphins fans are demanding a return to the team’s older uniforms. A petition is calling for a permanent return to the throwbacks featured yesterday. The Dolphins dark-Aqua, 1966 throwback uniforms –as seen in this article’s main picture– heavily contrast the team’s post-modern, sky-colored mess.

The petition currently has over 2,000 signatures. Miami documentarian Billy Corben and a local Miami news affiliate shared the petition. Could Miami Dolphins President Tom Garfunkel be pressured into the change?

I, for one, support it. The older, darker uniforms are a more classic Miami Dolphins look.
