After looking pretty good in five starts for the Cleveland Browns this year, QB Kessler went out with a concussion. He came back to the team this week and HC Hue Jackson finally decided to start him Friday.

Coming into the 2016 NFL season, it looked like Robert Griffin III would be the guy under center for the Cleveland Browns. But unfortunately, he would lose that opportunity due to a shoulder injury. The Josh McCown came in and was quickly injured himself.

Then Jackson had no choice but the turn to 2016 3rd-round pick Cody Kessler. And Kessler is turning out to be a steal so for this year with the way he has performed. In five games as a starter, he’s completed 70 percent of his passes for 947 yards four TDs and no INTs.

But in Week 7, against the Cincinnati Bengals, Kessler sustained a concussion. And McCown came back from his injury to throw for 341 yards in a Week-6 loss to the New York Jets. That left Jackson with a choice to make about who he should start in Week 9.

After a few days of deliberation this week, he decided to roll with the rookie on Friday. You got it, the 3rd-round pick, who has looked like a steal up to now, has Jackson’s confidence. It looks more and more like a quarterback won’t be the Browns’ 1st-round pick in 2017 now.
