Malik McDowell. 11. player. 46. With QB Andrew Luck getting rid of the ball quicker, the Indianapolis Colts have improved on offense. That offensive line is coming together and old man Frank Gore is on pace to go over 1,000 yards. It’s the No. 30-ranked defense that’s holding them back as a team.

They’re giving up 4.7 yards per carry on the ground and they don’t get after the quarterback very well. DL Malik McDowell is a guy that’s stout against the run and can rush the passer. So he’s a good fit for 3-4 end then kicking inside to rush the passer from a 4-man front.

At 6’6″, 291 pounds, he has the power, length and athleticism that makes him extremely difficult to block. And he uses his arm length and power in his upper body strength in a variety of moves. McDowell often defeats multiple blockers, particularly on his pass rushes.

We’ll see if he is that good but he looks a lot like the Leonard Williams of this draft, he’s so disruptive. But he’s good enough to go in and anchor the Colt’s defensive front-7 right away. And the defense would improve drastically, giving the Colts the AFC South title again.
. DE. Michigan State
