
21. New Orleans Saints – 4-5
The Saints lose to the Denver Broncos on the final play of the game. Drew Brees put the Saints in a position to win the game by throwing a touchdown pass with less than two minutes remaining. The extra point to put the Saints up by one was blocked and ran back for two points by the Broncos.
Brees went 21-of-29 for 303 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. Brandin Cooks grabbed three receptions for 98 yards and a touchdown. The Saints have no trouble on offense. Every week they are putting up a solid amount of points.
The Saints tried an onside kick after the Broncos scored the two points, but the Broncos recovered the ball, ending the game. This loss doesn’t put the Saints out of it yet. They are only two games out of first place in the NFC South.
This week, the Saints play on Thursday Night against the Carolina Panthers. This is always a hard-fought battle. The Saints will have a hard time if they fall behind. Drew Brees will keep the Saints in this game. The defense just needs to find a way to contain Cam Newton.
