The Chiefs fell behind 17-0 in the first half against the Carolina Panthers, before staging a come back. The Chiefs won the game by scoring 20 unanswered points for a 20-17 win. This come from behind victory gave the Chiefs the number one spot in the AFC West.
Marcus Peters pulled the ball out of Kelvin Benjamin’s hands with 20 seconds left in the game to get the ball back to the Chiefs. This allowed the Chiefs to set up for a 37-yard field goal. As time expired, Cario Santos lifted the Chiefs to a three-point victory.
Alex Smith went 25-of-38 for 178 yards and an interception. Tyreek Hill grabbed 10 catches for 89 yards. The offense struggled against the Panthers defense all game. They scored four field goals the entire game. The only touchdown came from Eric Berry’s interception that was returned for a touchdown. The Chiefs made a two point conversion.
This week, the Chiefs play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The offense is going to need to play better in this game. There is pressure on the Chiefs with the Raiders and Broncos hot on their trails for first place in the division.
