Alabama. O.J. Howard. 22. player. 59. Tight end prospect O.J. Howard has a combination of size and speed that will make him impossible to cover. NFL scouts measured him at just under 6’6″, and he ran in the mid 4.6s in the 40 this spring. His play speed and is even better as he often runs away from coverage.
This makes him too big for defensive backs to cover and to fast for linebackers to cover, even in the NFL. Howard is also a fluid route runner and provides a large catch radius with his reliable hands. He’s like having a third wide receiver out there while in regular personnel.

He is an effective blocker that competes hard to keep his man way from the ball carrier as well. Howard doesn’t mash on defenders but uses positioning and leverage to shield and wall defenders off. The Miami Dolphins can use as they run the ball a lot with running back Jay Ajayi.

Howard would work extremely well with receivers DeVante Parker, Kenny Stills and Jarvis Landry. It would be much easier for quarterback Ryan Tannehill to get his job done. And with the defense banging the way it is, the New England Patriots could be threatened.
. TE
