LSU. Jamal Adams. 9. player. 13. As long as quarterback Philip Rivers is there, the San Diego Chargers will explode on offense. They just never made a great attempt to effectively replace free agent loss Eric Weddle at S. Weddle is a playmaker that can cover multiple positions and play the deep part of the field.</p><div class=. S

He can also play the run in the box and effectively rush the passer, blitzing off the edge. LSU’s Jamal Adams can also do all of those things, making him a highly-graded prospect. So the Chargers would be smart to take him with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

With all of the things he can do, Adams would make the Chargers defense better in every way. And with everyone healthy again in 2017, the Chargers would be solid on the defensive side of the ball. Then Rivers would have the chance to lead his Chargers back into the playoffs.
