Adrian Peterson is doing everything he can to help his team get to the Super Bowl. He and his Minnesota Vikings are still hopeful about that.
Adrian Peterson has always been as determined an athlete as there is in the NFL. He came back from a torn ACL inside of a year and rushed for over 2,000 yards. And now, he is back at practice way ahead of schedule from his torn meniscus.
So the Minnesota Vikings designated him for return from injured reserve Wednesday. At 7-6, the Vikings are a game in the loss column out of the wildcard and two games out of the division lead. So with just three games left, Peterson still has playoff and Super Bowl hopes.
If the Vikings beat the Indianapolis Colts Sunday, it sets up a Week-16 return against the Green Bay Packers. The Packers 7-6 too and of course, they still have their own playoff hopes. Peterson sees the end of his career and desperate to get to a Super Bowl.
He said per the St. Paul Pioneer Press, “I plan on practicing this week to really get my legs under me and get a good feel on where I’m at. So, this week is going to be big for me. My plan, and my vision, is to be back for the Green Bay game. That’s what I’m envisioning.
He also spoke on his ultimate goal that he’s holding onto, saying, “My eyes are still set on being in Houston for the Super Bowl. That’s been my vision. With us still in the hunt, that hasn’t changed at all.”
Peterson doesn’t have to be 100 percent of his old self to help his team. Bradford plays at a high a level when protected and especially when opposing teams are focused on Peterson. And with the the defense they have, Peterson and the Vikings have reason for high hopes.
