53. Myles Garrett is the consensus best prospect in the 2017 NFL Draft and consensus No. 1 overall pick. So there’s no need for draft analysts or even the Cleveland Browns to play with this one. Football analytics company Pro Football Focus has him as the best prospect of this draft as well.

So GM Sashi Brown, who does everything by the analytics book, can’t even mess this one up. And physically, he’s everything you want in an edge-rusher at 6’5″, 265 pounds, long arms and plenty of burst off the edge. He also comes equipped with counter-moves including a nice spin-move.

Garrett has also turned himself into a solid run defender to eliminate that weakness from the past. The Browns have six games against three of the best QBs in the NFL so disrupting them is a priority. Garrett will have to drop in coverage every here and there as a 3-4 OLB in the Browns’ defense.

But he is athletic enough to do so and won’t have to very often as he’s going over there to rush the passer. As they say, “defense wins championships” and also turns a team around the fastest. And Garrett is the guy in this draft that the Browns can build a solid defense around.
. OLB. Texas A&M. Myles Garrett. 1. player
