Notre Dame. DeShone Kizer. 2. player. 42. The San Francisco 49ers are starting over as GM Trent Baalke is expected to be fired soon. That means the team’s fan base will likely happily say goodbye to head coach Chip Kelly. And that means that the head coach will likely start his era off with a new quarterback.
The spread offense is ruining QBs for the NFL and the 2017 NFL Draft class of QBs stinks. However, there is one that checks all the boxes of what you want an NFL QB to be. DeShone Kizer is 6’5″, 235 pounds, has a big arm, accuracy and plenty of mobility.

He’s also tough, able to throw an accurate ball down the field knowing he’s going to get hit. He comes from Brian Kelly’s pro style offense at Notre Dame so he’s the most pro ready QB prospect too. Some are down on him because his 2016 wasn’t as good as his 2015.

But he lost guys like WR Will Fuller and LT Ronnie Stanley to the 2016 NFL Draft. That happened to Jameis Winston when he came up and he turned out just fine so there are no concerns there. So after taking Kizer at No. 2 overall, it’s time to start putting pieces around him.
.
