87. The Carolina Panthers took quite a fall from Super Bowl runner-up to picking No. 8 overall. The losses of cornerbacks Josh Norman and Charles Tillman from that defense were huge. All the injuries to the offensive line didn’t help the Panthers either.
And the Panthers’ offense drastically regressed in both the total offense and rushing offense. The defense wasn’t so good in the beginning either but they started to come around at the end. So Panthers fans should be looking forward to seeing the younger defense in 2017.

Running back Jonathan Stewart is approaching 30 now, the age where most of them fall off. So at No. 8 overall, The Panthers select running back Dalvin Cook from Florida State to take his place. It’s hard to stop an offense that has a dynamic running quarterback and dynamic running back.

When there’s bootleg action, defenses will have problems figuring out which way to go. Then the defense will get preoccupied with the run and Newton will have a chance to throw the deep ball. We can then expect to see the Panthers competing for the NFC South title again.
. RB. Florida State. Dalvin Cook. 8. player
