After three years in the NFL, Greg Robinson appears to be a bust. But his new head coach isn’t ready to give up on him yet.

When a new head coach comes to town, one of two things happen with the players. Either the head coach looks to get rid of certain players or those players get a clean slate. The latter is the case between Los Angeles Rams HC Sean McVay and left OT Greg Robinson.

Through three years, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft has been a bust. In 2016, he was benched multiple times and was made inactive for two games. But McVay intends to give him a fresh start and get something out of him instead of getting rid of him.

He told ESPN.com, “When you see some of the things he’s able to do, you see the athleticism in space when he’s pulling around and using some of those perimeter schemes that they did offensively last year. He’s a guy that we’re excited to get around.

“That’s why it’s frustrating that we have to wait so long to get these guys in the building, see them on the grass.”

McVay could always move him to right OT or one of the OG spots but only time will tell. That would depend on if the Rams can get a solid player at the position in free agency or the draft. Perhaps new O-line coach Aaron Kromer can teach him in a way he gets it.

Kromer said of Robinson, “He’s shown flashes of skills. Now, why it’s not consistent, I can’t answer that [yet]. I don’t know.”

Stay tuned, 2016 first-round QB Jared Goff’s life and success could depend on it.
