There are a few teams interested in soon-to-be former Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo. And injuries aside, whoever gets him is getting a franchise QB.

No NFL team is biting on a trade for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. After all, they’re not going to give away draft picks for a player that can’t stay with the Cowboys. Plus there’s that salary of his that teams can’t live with given his injury history.

So it looks like the Cowboys will end up cutting him.

But injuries aside, what kind of player will his next team get?

Are those injuries the only concern or are have they affected his ability to perform?

We saw what happened with Peyton Manning in 2015.

His teammate, Cowboys safety Barry Church, says his next team will get a great quarterback. He saw the 36-year-old quarterback direct the first-team offense in practice late in the season. And Church believes that any interested teams should pull the trigger on him.

He said Monday on KRLD-FM, via The Dallas Morning News. “He looked great back there. He was dropping some dimes, some serious dimes against the No. 1 defense. We went against him on 7-on-7 drills.

“He looked like 2014 Romo when he was out there slinging it. He looked good to me, like he had a lot left in him.”

Romo wants to play for a contender but contenders either have QBs, huge payrolls or both. He would fit well with the Houston Texans if he’s willing to take much less money. The Cleveland Browns or San Francisco 49ers would need much more than him to win.

One bad team he could possibly turn around is the Chicago Bears. They have an up-and-coming defense and a great running great running game over there. The Bears would just have to convince Romo of that and bring back receiver Alshon Jeffery.
