The Los Angeles Chargers have a solid pass rush now with 2016 first-round DE Joey Bosa there. If they are smart, they will make sure the bring back EDGE Melvin Ingram this offseason. They are in this position in the draft because they had a rash of injuries at the CB position.

The Chargers are solid at the SS position with Jahleel Addae playing very well in 2016. But they’re missing that playmaker at FS after Eric Weddle went to Baltimore in free agency this offseason. I thought they would and should have paid Weddle but you know how that goes.

But Malik Hooker is the perfect pick to make to replace what Weddle did for the Chargers. At 6’2″,205 pounds, Hooker is a tall, rangy safety prospect with great instincts and film study. From his FS position, he has the ability read routes, anticipate throws, and drive on the ball.

Hooker also has those all important ball skills that allow him to finish the play with an INT. We already know what QB Philip Rivers, RB Melvin Gordon and hopefully healthy WR Keenan Allen can do. With healthy CBs, the Chargers can make an exponential move up the standings.
. S. Ohio State. Malik Hooker. 7. player. 13
