15. As long as QB Drew Brees and HC Sean Payton are with the New Orleans Saints, the offense will explode. The reason why the Saints have missed the playoffs in recent years is the defense hasn’t held up their end. Opposing offenses have been able keep up with Brees and his offense. <p>They’ve obviously had to throw most of the time to either keep up or take the lead. The Saints have great QBs in that division too so they have to get after these QBs better to win anything. Their pass rush did improve when 2016 first-round DT Sheldon Rankins got healthy.</p> <p>And DE Cameron Jordan did his thing, bringing the heat of the right edge of the offense too. Derek Barnett from Tennessee is a guy that many have reported to be the guy the Saints want here. There’s nothing not to like as he’s been extremely productive throughout his college career.</p> <p>He has a great get-off, a variety of hand moves, great power to bull rush and plays the run well. Barnette is one of those guys that’s polished and will know what he’s doing as a rookie. And he’ll come off the edge and affect the QB right away, helping the Saints move up the standings.</p>. DE.
