Malik McDowell. 21. player. 50. You gotta love what Detroit Lions HC Jim Caldwell has done with the team, pointing the arrow up. If not for Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers being a legend, the Lions would have won the NFC North. The Lions just need to do something to prevent him from killing them.
Putting some pressure on him would be a great start in doing something about it.. DE Ezekiel Ansah played hurt in 2016 so he wasn’t able to bring the heat the way he usually does. But he will be back healthy in 2017 to help his Lions get after opposing QBs better next season.

Adding another DT that can bring that heat from the interior would be a huge help toward that. Malik McDowell from down the street at Michigan State looks downright unblockable at times. The 6’6″, 285-pounder has excellent length and can win with quickness, dip and rip, or bull rush.

McDowell is a beast that can anchor against double and triple-teams against the run too. The if left one on one, whoever his man is will be on skates going backward fast. He could go to Detroit, become a solid three-down defender and make the battle for the NFC North title interesting.
. DT. Michigan State
