Baylor’s KD Cannon is an explosive athlete who is a threat to score every time his team snaps the football.
KD Cannon’s speed and burst are the first thing that jumps off the screen. He’s an electrifying athlete capable of easily outpacing defensive backs. His opponents are a well aware of his speed and often give him a huge cushion.
Cannon is a deep threat because of his speed but also because of his toughness and strong hands. He’s an aggressive receiver who attacks the ball at its highest point. This is a guy who isn’t afraid to fight through contact and battle the defensive back.
He has the hand strength to hang onto the ball in contested situations. Cannon also features the body control to adjust to poorly thrown balls. His toughness also shows up in the running game where he’s more than a willing blocker.

Cannon is a fighter who will keep his legs churning in order to pick up every last yard.
As a route runner, he does need some work based on the fact he spent his time working in Baylor’s spread system. However, it’s not hard to see him making a quick adjustment based on his work ethic and fluid movement.
The one area where he already shows some promise is locating the open spots in the defense. He has a natural feel for holes in the zone.
Cannon’s thin frame is something he’ll need to work on in the next few years. It’ll help having a professional training and nutritional staff at his disposal.
This is an elite athlete who could quickly develop into one of the more dangerous deep threats in the NFL. His aggressive style of play makes the likelihood of him exceeding expectations higher than other prospects.
