4.) The Uniquely Talented Desean Jackson

The star receiver is so uniquely talented that he has created an archetype we hear about in the draft every year: an undersized receiver with a breakneck gait, both in terms of short area quickness and long speed, who is a polished route runner, tracks the deep ball exceptionally, and attacks the field with the creativity punt returner after the catch. With the exurbanite dollar teams will have to doll out to acquire the services of Alshon Jeffery, Jackson could benefit from being the no-doubt second best option available. At age 30, he’s shown little tread on his tires. Expect him to sign a deal somewhere in the range of $10 million annually.

If he leaves Washington, the Rams have to be considered heavy favorites in the sweepstakes. Completely devoid of wide receiver talent outside of gadget player Tavon Austin, Jackson will be well familiar with Sean McVay’s offense.

He’d add a much-needed vertical dimension for Jared Goff. He also could easily land back in now Chip Kelly free Philadelphia, who needs a top threat to help the guy picked right behind Goff.

It just makes too much sense for the Rams to throw some extra cash at Jackson.
