5.) The Best Player You’ve Never Heard Of

To the casual fan, the early days of free agency could come as a shock. Many people haven’t even heard of potentially the two best defensive talents available in Brandon Williams and Calais Campbell.

Williams is a one-man solution to suffocating the opponents running game on the defensive line. He’s best suited to play nose tackle in a 3-4 scheme. Baltimore held opponents to just 3.7 yards per tote on the ground with him as their feature player.

Short and rather round, however, he isn’t of the Aaron Donald interior pass rusher mold. Expect him to earn just shy of the Fletcher Cox and Muhamad Wilkerson deals. Anything less is a bargain.

Readers may be more familiar with the dealing of Calais Campbell. The monstrous defensive lineman is a true freak with an unmatched combination of height, length, size, and speed. He plays every position along the line and moves as well as anyone laterally. He’s destructive on every snap. The Cardinals can’t use their franchise tag on his as they elected to place it on Chandler Jones. At 30 years old, expect the two time All-Pro to stay in Arizona or head to another contender.
