Post-Combine Scouting Reports: Christian McCaffrey

There’s nothing like the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine to separate the men from the boys. Even though he looks like a boy, RB Christian is among the men.

Obviously, watching tape on an NFL Draft prospect is what’s most important. But there are a lot of players that are closely linked together in terms of where they rank. So the NFL Scouting combine is a good opportunity to find out who’s really athletically gifted.

There are some that call it the “Underwear Olympics” and say that it doesn’t have much value. But it actually does because the prospects are in a hotel with 4-5 hours of sleep. These NFL teams get to find out who can literally stumble out of bed and show their physical gifts.

The ones that can are the ones that you know will be consistent players in the NFL. There are eight road games these players will have to play under such conditions. Plus it’s an opportunity to match what you see to what you see on tape to their physical testing.

Christian McCaffrey, one of the more polarizing prospects, participated at the combine. So we got a chance to see if what he did at the combine matches up to what he did on the field. And it does so that makes him one of the easier prospects to do a scouting report on.
