124. I don’t know if the Kansas City Chiefs can get to the Super Bowl because of QB Alex Smith. But they can win one with him at QB if everything around him is set up well. A shutdown defense on the other side would be good for him not to try to do too much. <p>The Chiefs have a shutdown defense when it comes to getting after the QB and covering WRs. But you can’t call yourself a shutdown defense unless you can stop the run. And the Chiefs will continue to lose in the playoffs unless until they can do that.</p> <p>So they need that guy at ILB that can help stop the run, especially with Derrick Johnson coming off injury. Jarrad Davis is a good candidate to play along with him or replace him. He has great instincts, he’s physical, and has great speed on the football field.</p> <p>Davis didn’t participate in the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine so we have to go by his tape for now. Davis struggles in coverage but the Chiefs can take him off the field on passing downs. Stopping the run would turn the Chiefs into contenders immediately. </p>. ILB. Florida.
