7. player. 13. The San Diego Chargers have the best chance to go from worst to first of all the NFL teams. They have an offense with franchise QB Philip Rivers and breakout RB Melvin Gordon on it. The problem on the offense was WR Keenan Allen went down with an injury. <p>The Chargers also had a solid defense, particularly the front-seven with DE Joey Bosa and OLB Melvin Ingram. But the problem there is the Chargers had a rash of injuries at CB. Yet they were competitive this season, with most of their losses by the narrowest margins.</p> <p>Getting Allen back healthy on offense and the CBs back healthy on defense are big time. A playmaker on the back end of that defense to replace Eric Weddle would make things better. The Chargers were hoping to get Hooker but the 49ers took him at No. 2 overall.</p> <p>They want a S with range because they’ll mainly play Cover 1 and Cover 3 with new DC Gus Bradley. Peppers showed that range at the combine as he ran a 4.47 40-yard dash.. Don’t let a bad year a LB fool you, he’s a playmaker whose versatility will help the Chargers defense.</p>. S. Michigan.
