3rd Round, No. 67 overall- Taylor Moton, OL, Western Michigan

The Bears reportedly looked hard at the offensive tackle market during the early part of the free agency period. They were in on Ricky Wagner who ended up signing a huge deal with division rival Detroit Lions.

Chicago’s offensive line isn’t a major need but they could use a replacement for Bobby Massie at right tackle. Western Michigan’s Taylor Moton would be a great addition and fit the type of offense the Bears want to run.

Moton is a massive individual who does a good job generating a push in the run game. His performance at the Senior Bowl showed that he’s fluid enough to stick at tackle in the NFL. However, he still has the versatility to move inside to guard if needed.

Chicago wants to build their offense around Jordan Howard and the running game. Howard is by far their most effective offensive weapon and someone capable of carrying the load. The best way to ensure the running game is effective is by building a strong offensive line.

Adding another defensive back shouldn’t be ruled out at this point in the draft. Chicago’s secondary was a major weakness last year and they need to continue to add talent to the unit.
