Malik McDowell. 21. player. 50. The Detroit Lions need to put that heat on opposing QBs like Aaron Rodgers to win the NFC North. They didn’t do that so well in 2016 with DE Ezekiel Ansah struggling with injuries. He should be back with good health this year but they still need the interior presence. <p>They haven’t had a beast inside since they lost to Ndamukong Suh in free agency a few years ago. The Lions did a good job of fixing the offensive side of the line of scrimmage in free agency. OG T.J. Lang and OT Rick Wagner have upgraded the O-line in a major way.</p> <p>DT Malik McDowell from Michigan State has the ability to dominate and take over games. And you can see why at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine with the physical traits he displayed. He came in a 6’6″, 295 pounds with 35-inch long arms and he ran a 4.85 40.</p> <p>If he were consistent, the potential game wrecker would have easily been picked in the top 10. The Lions will bet on his potential and their coaching to make him a top 4-3 three-technique. This sounds weird but the Lions wouldn’t be far from favored to win the NFC North. </p>. DT.
