Texas Tech. Patrick Mahomes. 25. player. 10. The Houston Texans will go very far in the AFC playoffs once they get themselves a decent QB. I believe Tony Romo will be the one that goes there as soon as Jerry Jones stops playing. But Romo is 37 and his body has been through a ton of injuries throughout his career.
So it’s safe to say that Romo doesn’t have much of a future ahead of him in the NFL. The Texans are stacked now so this is a good time to start investing in the future of the franchise. That’s why they haven’t been very active in free agency and won’t be until Romo gets there.

Patrick Mahome, from right down the street at Texas Tech, is the guy they should bring in for their future. He’s a gunslinger with all kinds of arm talent, good size, athleticism, everything you want in a QB. Mahomes just needs to improve his consistency if he is to make it as an NFL QB.

With Romo there, the Texans would have enough QBs to allow Mahomes to sit at least on year. If Romo can stay healthy with the Texans, they have a Super Bowl in them within the next couple of years. Then when Romo retires, Mahomes will be ready to carry the Texans on.
. QB
