Florida State. DeMarcus Walker. 31. player. 44. The Atlanta Falcons need to do something to get after opposing QBs better than the did in 2016. But teams that just went to the Super Bowl have expensive rosters so they can’t do much in free agency. But the Falcons were able to pull off signing Dontari Poe on Thursday.
He will give the Falcons defense a run-stuffer that can apply surprising pressure to opposing QB. All that sounds good but the Falcons need more than that on their defensive line. A guy like DeMarcus Walker on the D-line would exponentially improve the Falcons’ pass rush.

That way, QBs like Tom Brady can’t just stand in the pocket all day and pick their defense apart. Walker is one of those guys that knows how to get to the QB from the edge and the interior. So he’s the perfect fit for the hybrid defense HC Dan Quinn likes to run down there.

He can line up as a three-technique in the 4-3 and as a five-technique in the 3-4 look. And on obvious passing dons, Walker can kick inside to tackle as uses his quickness against OGs. The Falcons’ pass rush would then be much better and there would be no big comebacks on them in 2017.
. DL
