Takkarist McKinley. 32. player. 47. The New England Patriots originally traded their first round pick for New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks. I would have been for Malcolm Butler he hadn’t signed his tender yet. So the Patriots and Saints made the trade with the Patriots getting Cooks and the Saints getting their No. 32 overall pick.
Then Thursday, the Patriots send Butler to the Saints for their No. 32 overall pick back. So it all worked out as the original trade that was Cooks for Butler at the end of the day. And the Patriots make use of that pick, taking Takkarist McKinley out of UCLA to rush off the edge..

The Patriots traded Chandler Jones away and Chris Long doesn’t plan to re-sign. So the Patriots need to replenish at least some of that DE talent they’ve lost the last year or two. McKinley ran a 4.59 40 at the combine, indicating that he has plenty of burst off the edge.

At 6’3″, 250 pounds, McKinley has darn-near 35-inch long vines for arms. With those long arms, uses his hands well and converts speed to power quickly. And in true Patriots’ fashion, he has a relentless motor that runs super high all day.
. DE. UCLA
