Bottom Line
The Seahawks can make this difficult but the bottom line is Lynch and the Raiders hold the cards. To show you how planned this was, the Lynch talk died down until the Seahawks signed Lacy. The contract Lacy signed is worth a little over $4 million for one year.
That’s $13 million on the RB spot and the Seahawks still want to see what C.J. Prosise can do. With the salary cap issues the team is already having, there’s no way they can swing that. So all Lynch has to do is declare his intention to play football in 2017.
And someway, somehow, Lynch will likely fulfill his childhood dream of playing for the Raiders. The more I write this, the more I believe this was all planned. Sorry for the conspiracy theory but the Raiders don’t want to give up draft picks nor would Lynch want them to.
But we shouldn’t believe this will automatically work out because this is a fluid situation. Lynch can change his mind at any time just like he did last year. He believe he stayed in shape for a reason but you never know with Lynch so stay tuned.
